Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 6) — The Philippine Embassy has advised Filipinos in Israel to take precautions amid escalating tensions in the Gaza Strip.

In its advisory, the embassy told Filipinos in the Gaza Envelope and South Israel that educational activities are prohibited. In work places, activities may only be held inside a "standard protected space" near a bomb shelter. Outdoor gatherings are limited to just 10 people and 50 indoors, it added.

The embassy also advised Filipinos to avoid crowded areas, and avoid or postpone visits to the Golan Heights and places near the borders of Lebanon and Gaza.

At least 11 people were killed after the Israeli military launched deadly strikes against what it called Islamic Jihad targets in Gaza on Friday, as tensions continue to rise between Israel and Palestinian militant groups.

Filipinos have been advised to immediately hide or escape whenever they hear gunshots, and to never take photos and videos of ongoing violence or clashes.

In case of emergency, Filipinos may call the embassy at +972.54.466.1188.
