Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 5) — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. has picked lawyer Monalisa Dimalanta as the new chairperson of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles announced on Friday.

Dimalanta, who served as chairperson of the National Renewable Energy Board from 2019 to 2021, replaces former ERC head Agnes Devanadera.

Her term will expire in July 2029.

Prior to her appointment to the commission, Dimalanta worked as the chief legal counsel and compliance officer of Aboitiz Power Corporation.

She is an alumna of the University of the Philippines.
