CAR now at moderate risk for COVID-19 - DOH
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 5) - The Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) is now at moderate risk for COVID-19, according to the Department of Health (DOH).
In a press briefing on Friday, DOH Officer-in-Charge Ma. Rosario Vergeire said the region has logged an average daily attack rate (ADAR) of 6.10.
ADAR is the average number of new cases per day per 100,000 people in an area.
The DOH earlier said the basis for COVID-19 risk classification depends on a matrix--which includes the ADAR and the hospital utilization rate.
Meanwhile, the department has noticed an increase in COVID-19 cases in Calabarzon.
"Ang mga natitirang rehiyon ay nananatiling nasa low risk case classification ngunit nalalapit na ang Region IV-A sa moderate risk average daily attack rate na threshold at 4.8 cases per 100,000 population," Vergeire said.

As for Metro Manila, it remains at moderate risk with an ADAR of 8.67, while the whole country remains at low risk for COVID-19 with an ADAR of 3.13, the DOH said.
The agency also reported 25,967 new COVID-19 cases nationwide from July 29 to August 4--with an average of 3,710 cases per day. The DOH said this is 16% higher than the number of infections logged the previous week.
