Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 19) – Two separate magnitude 4 earthquakes jolted Davao Occidental and Ilocos Sur minutes apart early Friday morning, state seismologists reported.

The epicenter of the magnitude 4.1 quake was located 137 kilometers east of Sarangani City, Davao Occidental at 2:20 a.m.

Minutes later, a separate magnitude 4.2 tremor hit four kilometers east of Quirino in Ilocos Sur at 2:43 a.m., the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.

The Illocos Sur temblor was one of the aftershocks of the magnitude 7 earthquake that shook Northern Luzon in July.

Intensity II is slightly felt in Basista and other areas in Pangasinan.

No damage to property is expected from both tectonic quakes.
