Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 18)— President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on Thursday underscored the need to address logistical challenges in the agriculture sector as his administration tackles proposals to strengthen the industry.

The chief executive made the remark during his Cabinet meeting earlier in the day, Malacañang said in a statement.

"The logistical challenge is clear, and we are not handling it," Marcos was quoted as saying during the meeting.

Particular issues raised during the discussions were complaints of cargo handlers on local government policies, as well as the presence of various checkpoints.

The Interior department, in response, vowed to address these cases with concerned officials.

Also discussed were proposals for food security, according to the Palace. Energy and Housing officials likewise presented strategies to secure national power supply and provide housing, it added.
