Palace: No comment on Imelda Marcos' birthday party
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 3) — The birthday of Imelda Marcos, mother of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., is not of public interest, according to the Office of the Press Secretary (OPS).
"We will only be releasing statements on issues where public interest/welfare is involved," the OPS said.
The statement comes after members of the Malacañang Press Corps requested photos and videos of Imelda Marcos’ birthday celebration inside Malacañang.
Although the Palace is the official residence of the president, Bongbong said he and his family will stay at the Bahay Pangarap (House of Dreams) instead.
Meanwhile, lawyer Michael Manotoc — Senator Imee Marcos' son and Imelda's grandson — posted photos on his Instagram account with the caption: "The great grandkids got all dressed up for their first visit to Malacañang! Happy Birthday Mama Meldy!!"

The interiors of the event place suggested the celebration was held in the presidential palace's Rizal Ceremonial Hall, which is used for state dinners and large assemblies.
The former first lady turned 93 on Saturday, July 2.
