Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 1) — After officially stepping down from office, former President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday attended a homecoming concert in Davao City.

Dubbed as “Salamat Tatay Digong,” supporters of Duterte gathered at the NCCC Mall open grounds to pay tribute to the former chief executive.

Local artists performed at the event. Organizers said there is no better way to honor the pride of Mindanao than with homegrown talents.

Supporters from different sectors and groups were present at the event. Some expressed hope that the Duterte programs will continue under President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., saying that six years is not enough.

Nagpapasalamat ako sa serbisyo niya," Filomena Tormes said. "Sana sundin nila ang pagbabago. Kulang ang six years kay Tatay Digong siya ang pinaka the best.”

[Translation: I thank him for him for his service. I hope they follow the change. Six years is enough for Tatay Digong because he is the best.]

Following the ceremonies in the Palace, Duterte visited a mall in Makati prior to flying back to Davao.

Now as a regular citizen, Duterte called on the public to give all-out support to the Marcos administration.
