Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 21) — The entire southbound lane of the EDSA-Kamuning flyover in Quezon City will be impassable to motorists for one month starting June 25 at 6 a.m.

The closure will cover the three lanes of the flyover, including the Bus Carousel lane.

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Romando Artes on Tuesday said the portion of the busy flyover will be closed to expedite the repairs conducted by the Department of Public Works and Highways after large cracks and potholes were found last week.

DPWH-NCR district engineer Eduardo Santos explained the rehabilitation spanning 30 meters will take one month because the repairs will be done manually without heavy equipment. He added they will use concrete that will take seven days of curing to ensure the sturdiness of the major thoroughfare.

MMDA has advised motorists to use the service road or Scout Borromeo Street, Eugenio Lopez Drive, and other Mabuhay lanes as alternative routes.
