Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 13) — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said in a briefing on Friday there are suggestions to defer the proposed new number coding scheme to a later time.

“Meron kasing suggestion na ipagpaliban na ito at hintayin na po yung incoming administration,” MMDA Chairman Romando Artes said.

[There are suggestions to postpone the implementation of the proposed new number coding scheme and wait for the new administration (to decide on the matter)].

Meron din naman pong panukala na every three months i-review kung sakaling ipapatupad ito bago matapos ang termino ni Pangulong (Rodrigo) Duterte,” he added.

[There are also suggestions to review the proposed scheme every three months if ever this will be implemented before President Rodrigo Duterte’s term ends.]

The proposed scheme will ban vehicles on roads from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. twice weekly depending on the end number of their license plates.
