Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 12) — The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) said results from its first batch of 16,820 encoded election returns (ERs) - mostly from Luzon - matched the data from the Commission on Elections' (Comelec) partial tally so far.

The first batch of ERs came from Metro Manila, and Luzon provinces such as Pangasinan, Laguna, Bulacan, Cavite, Sorsogon, Rizal and Ilocos Norte, the poll watchdog told reporters on Thursday. Some of the returns were also from Misamis Oriental.

PPCRV has only received 24,640 ERs as of 11:20 a.m., including the over 16,000 that have been encoded. This is still a small fraction of the nearly 53 million votes tallied in Comelec's partial count.

PPCRV Chairperson Myla Villanueva earlier told The Source that there is a delay in delivering the physical ERs because these come different areas.

"Some are from the mountains. People are riding horses, doing any way they can to get these to UST," she said, referring to the University of Sto. Tomas in Manila, where the PPCRV is encoding the votes.
