Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 23) — The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Friday issued a show cause order against six provincial public utility bus (PUB ) operators for failing to operate on April 20, which caused a heavy build-up of passengers in Pampanga bus terminals due to the lack of public buses.

According to LTFRB, the bus liners violated their Certificate of Public Convenience (CPC) and caused inconvenience to travelers on that day.

LTFRB Region III identified Victory Liner, Genesis Transport Service Inc, Bataan Transit Bus Inc., Five Star Bus Inc., First North Luzon Transit Inc., and Maria De Leon among the bus operators that did not operate on April 20.

The LTFRB said enforcers inspected the following terminals, where no buses operated:

1) Dau Terminal, Mabalacat, Pampanga

2) Robinson Mall Terminal, San Fernando City, Pampanga

3) Victory Liner Terminal, San Fernando City, Pampanga

4) Bataan Transit Terminal, San Fernando City, Pampanga

5) Genesis Terminal, San Fernando City, Pampanga

6) Bus Stop in Mexico, Pampanga

The LTFRB is now ordering the public bus liners to explain why they failed to operate on April 20. The agency also asked the representatives of each PUB company to attent the en banc hearing on May 10 via Zoom.

CNN Philippines is trying to get the comment of the bus companies.
