Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 19) — Criminal complaints have been filed against eight suspects and several John Does tagged in the disappearance of sabungeros or cockfight enthusiasts.

In a statement, the Philippine National Police's (PNP) Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) said kidnapping and serious illegal detention complaints were filed before the Department of Justice on Thursday, March 18.

Based on pieces of evidence and statements of witnesses, the CIDG said the suspects were positively identified as those "who took hold of the missing persons and loaded them in a van parked in the basement of Manila Arena on January 13, 2022, prior their disappearance."

The CIDG added that investigations are still ongoing "for the resolution of the other cases of missing sabungeros."

The agency also encouraged witnesses or those who may have information about the case to come forward.
