Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 24) — Skeletal remains were recovered Thursday at an excavation site inside the Department of Justice (DOJ) compound in Manila.

A clip shared to the media showed authorities inspecting the construction site where the remains were found.

Justice Secretary Boying Remulla said he will have these examined. No further details were provided as of publishing.

Forensic pathologist Raquel Fortun, however, noted that such discovery is "nothing new."

"[I]t happened before. [World War II] remains?" Fortun wrote on Twitter.
