Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 24)— President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. appointed Emmanuel Rufino Ledesma Jr. as acting president and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Malacañang said Thursday.

Ledesma, a member of the health insurer’s expert panel and board of directors, took his oath earlier in the day, the Palace said in a statement.

Ledesma was former president and CEO of the Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corporation, which manages state-owned power assets.

PhilHealth was previously headed by officer-in-charge Eli Dino Santos.

This is a developing story.
