Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 7) — CNN Philippines remains the most trusted news channel in the country, a survey released Friday by Publicus Asia showed.

According to the results of the Pahayag 2022 Third Quarter survey, CNN Philippines obtained a 45% total high trust rating. This is a point lower than the 46% total high trust rating it received during the second quarter.

Twenty-five media outlets, including television networks, radio stations, online and print news, were listed in the non-commissioned survey conducted from Sept. 16 to 20.

Completing the top five trusted news outlets are GMA-7 (42%), Philippine Daily Inquirer (35%), Manila Bulletin (35%), and Bombo Radyo (34%).

Meanwhile, the survey noted a decline in the trust ratings of TV5, SMNI, UNTV, Business World, Sunstar PH, Net 25, and Summit Express.

The poll also showed that social media overtook TV as the daily news source. Facebook and YouTube are the most popular social media sites among Filipinos, with about a third of the population spending more than five hours a day on these platforms.

The survey used a purposive sampling with 1,500 registered Filipino voters as respondents. It has a margin error of ~3%.
