NDRRMC confers posthumous award on 5 Bulacan rescuers
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 2) — The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) has conferred posthumous award on five rescuers from Bulacan who died while on duty amid the onslaught of Typhoon Karding.
In a statement Saturday, the NDRRMC said it awarded the Bakas Parangal ng Kagitingan to rescuers George Agustin, Troy Justin Agustin, Marby Bartolome, Jerson Resurreccion, and Narciso Calayag Jr. during the tribute organized by the Bulacan provincial government last Friday.
The agency said it bestows the Bakas Parangal ng Kagitingan to “individuals who exhibited extraordinary acts of bravery by extending assistance to those in need in times of disaster beyond the call of duty.”
