Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 18) — Bohol has been placed under a state of calamity due to the extent of damage caused by Typhoon Odette.

Bohol Governor Arthur Yap announced on Saturday that he has signed Executive Order 65 declaring a state of calamity in the entire province "due to the severity of [Typhoon] Odette's destruction."

The EO was signed on Friday, Dec. 17.

"Based on the initial assessment of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, [Typhoon] Odette severely damaged homes, buildings, establishments and government facilities and infrastructure, as well as communication facilities and power lines, all over the province," read the EO.
