Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 30) — The enrollment period for public schools for the upcoming school year has been extended to July 15.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque made the announcement during his press briefing on Monday, citing an advisory from Education Secretary Leonor Briones.

Citing latest data from the Department of Education, Roque said there are currently 15.2 million enrollees from public schools, while over 672,000 enrollees are from private schools.

Roque urged the parents not to wait until the deadline to have their children enrolled.
