Barangay councilor shot dead in Misamis Occidental after voting

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 13) — A barangay (village) official in Clarin, Misamis Occidental was killed while on his way home after voting on Monday.

Barangay Councilor Ric Isidro Moreno of Purok 6, Barangay Poblacion was shot by an unidentified suspect who fled on a motorcycle, local police said.

The Clarin Municipal Police Station said Moreno was immediately brought to the Mayor Hilarion A. Ramiro Sr. Medical Center in Ozamiz City but was declared dead on arrival.
