Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 14) — Senator Bong Go sided with his former employer, President Rodrigo Duterte, amid increased complaints about traffic in Metro Manila. He said the President never promised to solve it, not even during the election campaign.

"Hindi po siya nangako, mahirap talaga. Maybe mabawasan po, mabigyan ng kaunting solusyon yung trapiko, pero to solve? Napakahirap talaga i-solve ang trapiko," Go told reporters at the Senate Monday.

President Rodrigo Duterte himself on February 24 said that he has fulfilled most of his campaign promises, except to ease EDSA traffic.

"Wala akong pangako na hindi ko natupad except 'yang EDSA," Duterte said in a campaign rally for PDP-Laban senatorial candidates.

He then blamed Congress for not giving him the emergency powers he requested to solve traffic along major roads.
