Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Miss Philippines Maxine Medina landed in the Top 6 of the 65th Miss Universe.

Philippines, along with Thailand, France, Kenya, Colombia, and Haiti were named as the Top 6 candidates during the grand coronation on Monday.

Meanwhile, the Miss Universe 2016 Final 9 candidates are:

Deshauna Barber, Miss U.S.A

Chalita Suansane, Miss Thailand

Iris Mittenaere, Miss France

Kristal Silva, Miss Mexico

Mary Were, Miss Kenya

Andrea Tovar, Miss Colombia

Siera Bearchell, Miss Canada

Raquel Pelissier, Miss Haiti

Maxine Medina, Miss Philippines

The Final 9 list was announced after the contestants sashayed in their swimsuits. It was based on the nine highest averaged scores from the judges and the global fan vote.

The Top 6 candidates entered the most nerve-wracking part of the event: The Final Question round.

They were asked by judges about various topics concerning the world or the country they represent. The six contestants were provided with an interpreter upon their request.

The Top 3 candidates with the highest scores from the Final Question round moved on to the Top 3 to present their final look.

Medina bowed out of the Top 6 following the question and answer portion of the pageant, which she previously admitted to be her waterloo.
