Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Catholics gathered at the Manila Cathedral on Good Friday (March 25) to commemorate the crucifixion and death of Christ.

Devotees solemnly carried out the Stations of the Cross, praying at each of the 14 stations that depict Jesus Christ and his suffering.

At each station, Catholics pray and recall a specific event from Christ's last day — from his condemnation to his death.

The Seven Last Words of Jesus will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Manila Cathedral.
