McDonald’s PH opens 700th store in Nuvali
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Fast food giant McDonald’s Philippines celebrated another milestone in the country with the opening of its 700th McDonald’s Store in Nuvali — its fifth flagship Green & Good store in the Philippines.
Speaking to CNN Philippines’ The Final Word, President and CEO Kenneth Yang emphasized that the store is another testament to the Golden Arches’ commitment to sustainable growth.
“This is really a special restaurant. It’s one of our Green & Good flagship restaurants. Our aim is to build and operate eco-friendly and sustainable restaurants moving forward,” Yang said.

McDonald’s newest Green & Good store in Laguna has bike-friendly features that include bike racks, a Bike & Dine facility and will soon have a dedicated Bike Repair Station to cater to the needs of the growing cycling community of Nuvali — Ayala Land’s largest eco-estate and one of the country’s premier biking destinations.
Green & Good is the food chain’s pledge to do better for the environment by equipping its restaurants with sustainable technology: using green building and utility-efficient solutions like solar rooftops and lampposts, grid-tied solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, a rainwater harvesting tank, variable refrigerant flow (VRF) Aircon System, among others, that help in the reduction of emissions.

“McDonald’s newest Green & Good store in Nuvali is another step in strengthening our commitment to environmental sustainability. Our goal is to continue to test and learn alternative solutions in how we operate our restaurants. With every Green & Good store that we open, we can better determine green building and utility-efficient solutions that we can integrate in restaurants that we will open in the coming years,” Yang said in a statement.
With its 700th Store, McDonald’s Philippines capped off 2022 with 45 new stores nationwide.
“This 700th store milestone not only shows our growth over the years, starting with our first restaurant in Morayta in 1981, but it also represents our commitment to the future,” Yang added.
“As we introduce innovative solutions that elevate the customer experience and create positive impact to communities like Green & Good, we are excited to be a better McDonald’s for Filipinos for many more years to come,” he added.
In the same interview, Chairman and Owner George Yang recalled that the first branch in Morayta, back then, only served what was available in the US brand.
“At that time, we didn’t offer local menu items yet. Our Cheeseburger was the best seller and still is today,” the elder Yang recalled.

As times changed, however, McDonald’s Philippines strived to customize its menu to cater to the local palate, offering Filipino items like the Chicken McDo, McSpaghetti, Burger McDo, Eggdesal and Longganisa meals.
With the continuous growth of McDonald’s store network, every new branch generates 80 to 100 new jobs through its direct hiring practice; keeping in step with the brand’s commitment to provide employment and career opportunities for Filipinos.
The Nuvali branch is located along Nature Road in Sta. Rosa Laguna while other McDonald’s Green & Good store branches are in UN Del Pilar (Manila), Shaw Boulevard Wack-Wack (Mandaluyong), Mambugan (Antipolo), Delos Reyes (Tagaytay) and Sta. Monica (Commonwealth Quezon City).
McDonald’s Nuvali is open 24 hours daily, and is open for Dine-In, Take-out, Ride-thru, McDelivery, McCafé and McDo Parties.
