Miss Universe sets date, venue for next coronation night

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 20)— Mark your calendars, pageant fans: The date is set for the 71st Miss Universe competition.

In a social media post on Tuesday, the Miss Universe organization announced that the next coronation night will take place in New Orleans, Louisiana in the United States on Jan. 14, 2023.

No other details were provided as of publishing.

Beauty queens from around 85 countries are set to compete for the coveted crown, which was last won by India's Harnaaz Sandhu.

"My time as Miss Universe has been an incredible experience and I am so grateful for all the opportunities I have received as a result of this platform," Sandhu said.

The Philippines will be represented by Celeste Cortesi in the next edition of the beauty competition.
