Making beautiful core memories with your children
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Childhood is the best time for you and your kid to create beautiful memories they can bring as they grow up. Here are some simple activities you can do with your kids that will make them feel loved and valued.
Camping
One of the ways you can bond with your kid is by camping out. Depending on your budget, you can either go to the countryside’s popular campsites or simply do backyard camping in your garden. Involve your child in setting up the tent and preparing hotdog or cheesedog barbecues over the campfire. You can also share ghost stories at night.

Cosplay together
If your kid is a fan of superheroes and popular anime characters, then prove that you are a cool dad or mom by cosplaying together. Ask which character your kid wants to dress up for the upcoming Halloween or comic convention. Collaborate with your child on doing props and costumes but make sure to put pointy and sharp things away from your kid. During the event, take lots of photos of your cosplay together!
Show up during milestone events
Whether it’s graduation day, recognition day, first communion, or family day sporting events, parents need to show up during the milestones of their young lives. From the perspective of an adult, it might be petty to miss these events over work but feelings of neglect do scar a growing mind. Try your hardest to be present at his or her important events as much as possible. And regardless if your kid comes out as a victor or otherwise, still reward him for his efforts. Treat him to a movie and give him his favorite cheesedog sandwich.
Teach your child how to cook
