Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 1) — Good news for shoppers: Amazon is now offering free shipping to the Philippines!

The e-commerce giant announced on its website that select products can be delivered for free if they reach a total minimum order value of $49 (around ₱2,881).

How can Filipinos avail of the promo? We list down what you need to know:

Not all items are eligible

Amazon clarified that not all items are eligible for free international shipping. Customers are advised to search for the tags “FREE Shipping to Philippines” or “Your order qualifies for FREE Shipping” when they shop.

“Once you have a cart with eligible items and meet or exceed the promotion threshold, you will see the Free Shipping option at checkout,” Amazon noted.

If the customer’s cart contains non-eligible items, then he or she may be charged shipping fees for the products, it added.

Variety of products

Product categories where free shipping may apply include computers and accessories, books, beauty, fashion, home, and toys.

You can shop multiple items

Amazon said the minimum price threshold doesn’t need to be covered by only one product — you can purchase multiple items for as long as they are eligible for the promo.

Delivery period varies

Delivery time estimates shall be provided during checkout, according to Amazon.

The period will also depend on the item’s availability as well as the buyer’s address.

Amazon, however, advised shoppers that import fees and value added tax are “not included in the free shipping eligibility calculation.” To review the company’s policy on import fees, click here.

Will the promo stay for good?

It remains unclear if the free shipping option will stay for good. In a disclaimer, Amazon said it “reserves the right to modify this promotion at any time.”
