SM teams up with LGUs to expedite COVID-19 vaccination
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — To help public efforts controlling the spread of COVID-19, SM Supermalls started its multi-mall vaccination drive in partnership with various local governments nationwide to be the venue for their vaccination program.
“As part of our continuing efforts in preventing the further spread of COVID-19, SM malls all over the country can provide convenient, safe, and accessible venues for the community to get vaccinated,” SM Supermalls president Steven Tan said. “Through our long-standing relationship with the LGUs [local government units], we remain committed to ensuring the health and safety of the public.”

The mall operator’s program already started for some LGUs last week and will resume on April 7 and 8.
SM, together with the Municipality of Rosario in Cavite, rolled out “Resbakunado Tayo, Mga Taga-Rosario!” last March 29, where SM City Rosario’s cinema hallway was repurposed to hold the administration of vaccines to health workers, front liners, senior citizens, and indigents as identified by the Department of Social Welfare and Development. Some 12,000 beneficiaries are expected to receive their initial dose of the vaccine.

SM also teamed up with the Olongapo City Government for its two-day vaccination program held last March 30 to 31 at the SMX, SM City Olongapo Central to inoculate local frontliners. More will get vaccinated in the coming days once the next batch of vaccines arrives in the city.
Meanwhile, SM and the Municipality of Pulilan launched a vaccination activity last March 31 at SM Center Pulilan. Around 200 individuals, who were medical workers, frontliners, and senior citizens, registered for vaccination. About 700 more will get vaccinated with the resumption of the activity this week.
