Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 26) — Ateneo de Manila is the top Philippine university when it comes to employability, a recent study showed.

The Graduate Employability Rankings 2020 ranked Ateneo in the 161 to 170 bracket, up several places from when it placed in the 181 to 190 bracket in the 2019 report.

The study was released by QS Quacquarelli Symonds, and listed three other Philippine universities whose graduates were said to be most employable: University of Santo Tomas (251 to 300), De La Salle University (301 to 500), and the University of the Philippines (301 to 500).

Among all the local universities, only Ateneo and the University of Santo Tomas moved up the rankings.

Over 750 universities were included in the study, more than 680 were ranked and 501 published.

The institutions were assessed based on employer reputation, alumni outcomes, partnerships with employers, employer-student connections, and graduate employment rate.

The top 10 universities are:

- Massachusetts Institute of Technology

- Stanford University

- University of California, Los Angeles

- The University of Sydney

- Tsinghua University

- The University of Melbourne

- University of Cambridge

QS Quacquarelli Symonds said, "Our methodology focuses on how connected universities are with employers, how reputed their graduates are among companies worldwide, how likely

their graduates are to enter the job market soon after graduation and, finally, the achievements of their most prominent alumni."
