Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 6) — The dazzling crown for the winner of the Miss Universe 2019 was unveiled on Friday.

Reigning Miss Universe queen Catriona Gray revealed the exquisitely-bejeweled crown made by Swiss and Emirati company Mouawad.

Named the "Mouawad Miss Universe 'Power of Unity' crown represents ambition, diversity, community, and beauty, the makers said.

The crown is adorned with over 1,700 diamonds meticulously placed on an interconnected vine design that sends the message that milestones can be achieved by working together.

But the highlight of the crown is the 62.83 carat golden canary diamond sourced from Botswana.

"The crown's name 'Power of Unity' celebrates women for being complex, diverse, unapologetically ambitious, strong," Mouawad Diamond Division co-guardian Fred Mouawad said.

The crown given to Gray during her coronation was a pearl-encrusted Mikimoto crown, which reportedly costs around ₱13.2 million.

Women from over 90 countries are competing for the much-coveted title. The 68th Miss Universe will be crowned in Atlanta, USA.
