Manila (CNN Philippines Life) — A sedan may not be the first type of car that comes to mind when thinking about high-rolling executives cruising on the road. While SUVs and luxury sports cars do make a statement, sedans, on the other hand, offer an understated elegance that many are in pursuit for.
Just in time for the holidays, Toyota unveils the eighth generation of “the king of sedans.” Executives who have drivers to deal with weekday traffic will want to take the wheel themselves — if only on weekends — with the alll-new Toyota Camry. Having undergone a major overhaul, the eighth generation of “the king of sedans” is quite a leap from the previous model.
For one, it offers a premium driving experience due to its lower center of gravity, new suspension system, and increased forward field of view. As a Camry user herself, Cristina Arevalo, Toyota’s First Vice President for Brand and Product Planning Cluster, can attest to the superiority of the new model.
“You can really see a big difference in terms of the performance, interiors, and styling of the new generation,” she says. “As a Camry user, I’m very impressed with it. I’m quite confident that a first time user, who might be coming from a lower-end car, will love it.”

Arevalo highlights the all-new Camry’s specs that appeal to the senses, from its sleek exterior to its smart interior. The Heads-Up Display projects the speed, shift position, and other settings onto the windshield, keeping the driver’s eyes on the road.
The all-new Camry features a memory function linked to each unique key. Arevalo explains, “When you open the car with your smart key, it automatically adjusts the driver’s seat and outside mirrors based on the preferences you programmed.”
The eighth generation Camry is designed for the utmost comfort of users as well, with plenty of legroom and seats clad in genuine leather. The rear seats are equipped with power recline and butterfly headrests, which offer better head and neck support. Backseat passengers also have the luxury of controlling the air-conditioning and sunshade.
Combined with better fuel efficiency and a five-star safety rating from the ASEAN New Car Assessment Program (NCAP), the features of the all-new Camry make it ideal for executives who want a premium driving experience and an automobile that’s family-friendly as well.
Arevalo says, “It’s a very good car for family getaways as it fits five adult passengers comfortably. It’s what I do myself; I drive my Camry during weekends with my family.”
Following the tenets of Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA), which enhances both practical and technical aspects, the all-new Camry is designed to encourage owners to drive the car themselves, instead of being chauffeured around, whenever possible.
