Metro Manila (CNN Philippines Life) — This week: give skatewear a go, support local artisans, or sample the best local skincare brand you’ve never heard of.
Vans Range Baggy Pants are great for skating, and just about anything else
Vans’ garments are designed to consider the ruggedness and mobility needed for extreme sports, all while balancing mass appeal and international-standard quality — totally underrated for everyday use.
Whether you skate or not, the Range Baggy Pants are perfect for long days at the park, 12-hour photoshoots, and anything in between. The green checkerboard print on the main colorway toe the line between beach punk and Y2K-chic, while the elastic waistband guarantees a cozy feel from the get-go. The perfect pair for anyone looking to stand out without trying too hard.
The Range Baggy Pants are available at selected Vans stores for ₱3,398.
Bagasáo’s newest collection is a meditation on archives past
Collection 5.5 is what clothing design studio Bagasáo describes as a “transition collection” — consisting of eight carefully selected pieces that were created as both a retrospective of the brand’s design DNA and a glimpse of what’s to come.
Visible raw hems, sleek silhouettes, and dual texture pieces harken back to previous collections while the addition of V stitching to the house code provide a refreshing departure from the usual styles.
Collection 5.5 is now available on Bagasáo’s online atelier.
Ilyang Ilyang’s Tail Bag brings whimsy to everyday life
The Ilyang Ilyang Tail Bag’s main compartment measures nine inches by six inches, with an adjustable strap that runs at a whopping 57 inches. The excess “tail” of the homegrown crochet brand’s newest offering provides continuity from the accessory down to the wearer’s lower body — not a typical feature of most bags. Each is priced at ₱2,000, and can be custom-made to the customer’s requests.
You may personally message Ilyang Ilyang’s Instagram to order from available stock or have one made-to-order.
Gianne Encarnacion’s flash tattoos are cute, introspective, and a little woo-woo
When your favorite illustrator makes a flash tattoo sheet, it’s almost a no-brainer.
If you’re unfamiliar with her work, this might be a good place to start: visual artist and printmaker Gianne Encarnacion released her first flash tattoo sheet consisting of all sorts of designs depicting ladies, decor, flora, and anting-anting. The works look good scaled up or down depending on preference, and can be used at a flat rate of ₱500 per design. They’re repeatable, so there’s a chance you might come across a tatt twin down the line too.
To purchase a flash design, you may DM the artist on Instagram.
Pure Culture’s Bulgarian Rose Glam Gold Satin Creme is pure luxury. And it’s organic, too.
While the brand only launched last February, Pure Culture’s come a long way. So far, they’ve bagged five Organic Beauty Awards in a variety of categories. Their prize horse? the Rose Glam Gold Satin Creme, nabbing both the Gold Prize for face creams and Editor’s Choice Award for Top 10 Favorite Products.
The cream contains non-nano (safe for topical consumption) specks of 24-karat gold — not just for bragging purposes, but to boost radiance and give off a glow effect. This means that it can double as a highlighting moisturizer during the day. On top of that: plumping properties, 100% natural, and cruelty free. All for ₱1,480.
Pure Culture’s products are all available through their online store.
