Metro Manila (CNN Philippines Life, May 22) — This week, attend bridal and summer fairs, check out the new branch of an NYC burger joint, and stock up on some beauty essentials.

Attend a bridal fair

When planning any event at the scale of a wedding, it can get overwhelming to sift through all the available suppliers for catering, location styling, documentation, and even venues. This weekend, local publication Bride and Breakfast is having the first of two wedding fairs of this year in partnership with the Trendsetter Team. Held at the SMX Convention Center on May 27 and 28, this year’s fair promises to have all the things needed for your dream wedding under one roof, with plenty of discounts from suppliers like M Catering, Palazzo Verde, PaperProject, and more. Attendees who pre-register before May 24 get free entrance and exclusive discounts. For more information, visit the event page. — CNN PHILIPPINES LIFE STAFF

Salu-salo Sining, Kape, at Kwentuhan

Online store Looking for Juan is hosting their first summer fair on May 27. The store, which offers locally-published childrens’ books and other gift items, is bringing together their community for a day celebrating the power of art and stories, featuring an art sale and artist meet-up, coffee and cakes, and more. Visitors can get up to 50% off on Looking for Juan’s catalog and get first dibs on their tote bag collection designed by Jamie Bauza, Ivy Berces, Kat Melo, and Angela Taguiang. The event is open to all. For more details, visit the event page. — CNN PHILIPPINES LIFE STAFF

Take a North EDSA field trip via Shake Shack

While there are Shake Shack joints all over Metro Manila (it’s also available via delivery), there are several reasons why their newly opened outpost at SM North EDSA is worth a visit. First is that there are a few store-exclusive dessert items — or “Concrete” in Shake Shack-speak — which are best enjoyed right out of the counter. The Apple Pie Oh My paired well with the crinkle cut fries. They also have wine and beer on the tap for a post-work meal with your colleagues. Shake Shack commissioned local illustrator Raxenne Maniquiz to paint their storefront mural as well as the interior wallpaper. They also have merchandise like pouches and drawstring bags in the artist’s signature flora and fauna-forward work available for sale (don’t miss out on the t-shirt). If you’re looking for a north-based hangout spot this week, consider this for a bit of art to enjoy while you snack on a warm burger. — MARGA BUENAVENTURA

Stock up on your Kiehl’s essentials at their LazMall Super Brand Day

Skincare routines don’t have to be long and complicated; they just have to work. A few of my current bathroom shelf essentials are the Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution and the Micro-Dose Anti-Aging Retinol Serum. They’ve helped manage my acne and the occasional spots they leave behind. These will both be part of the LazMall x Kiehl’s Super Brand Day this May 25, which will have up to 50% savings on these Kiehl’s formulas. The Skin Renewing Set includes the Retinol Serum and five free gifts (₱5,500 for 50ml), while the Glass Skin Set has the Dark Spot Solution (₱4,500 for 50ml) with accompanying gifts too. They also have a new Ultra Pure series with glycolic acid, niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid that you can get for ₱1,950 with free samples. Oh, and an incentive to stay up late: between 12 to 2 a.m. on May 25, you can stack up to 16 free gifts, including wireless earbuds for the first 25 buyers. Consider this your sign to build a skincare regimen that’s simple but totally stacked. — MB
