Manila (CNN Philippines Life) — Stylist Liz Uy has dipped her toes into an all-new venture — baking. “I wanted something crunchy outside. I wanted something gooey inside. I wanted it to be a little burnt on the top and so I created my dream cookie,” she says of her signature chocolate chip cookie available at her latest business endeavour, Mood Bake.
Last month, Uy opened a pop-up shop in Greenbelt 5 that sells the cookies either by piece (₱99) or in boxes of five (₱495) and 10 (₱990). The soft, pistachio green packaging of the boxes, the selection of social media posts, and the carefully presented pop-up still reflect the importance of style for Uy. But indeed, baking is a different beast.
“When we style, it's more gut feel; it's more the eye and how you feel that day or what's trendy now,” she explains, “whereas with baking it's very precise so everything's controlled — exact measures and exact time, so it’s refreshing.”
The pop-up shop in Greenbelt is open until April 30.
