‘Paano niyo ba ako naalala’: Sandara Park surprised how Filipino fans still recognize her
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 9) — It’s been almost two decades since she first won the hearts of countless fans in Philippine television, but K-pop star Sandara Park is still amazed how Filipinos still recognize her to this day.
Park, who is currently in the country, said she was surprised that many Filipinos recognize her wherever she goes as some fans online shared their photos with the K-pop star.
“Question! Pano nyo ba ako naalala hanggang ngayon kahit matagal nako [wala] sa [Philippine television] show [?]” she asked on Twitter on Thursday.
[Translation: Question! How do you still remember me even though I haven’t appeared on a Philippine television show for many years?]
“Sa halos lahat ng generation, naalala pa nila ako. Kahit sa mall, sa market, sa restaurant, sa lahat ng places kakagulat. Hehe I’m so happy!!!”
[Translation: It seemed that almost all generations still know me. Even in the mall, the market, the restaurant, and other places, I’m surprised that people recognize me. I’m so happy!!!]
Park arrived in Clark, Pampanga early this week to shoot for an upcoming TV project. She was spotted along with other K-pop stars like Winner’s Jinu, and NUEST’s JR and Aron.
Park started her career in the Philippines after joining a talent search competition in 2004, before debuting with popular K-pop girl group 2NE1 in 2009.
In March, she revealed that she is working on her first solo album.
Park is still active in South Korea as an actress and television host.
