'Eat Bulaga' resumes live TV airing with new hosts

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 5) — Following the departure of Tito, Vic, and Joey and other mainstays of "Eat Bulaga," the noontime variety show revealed its new sets of hosts during its television airing on Monday.

The show’s opening production number revealed the new hosts — Paolo Contis and Buboy Villar, comedian Betong Sumaya, siblings Cassy and Mavy Legaspi, and former "Tropang LOL" host Alexa Miro.

The show’s name “Eat Bulaga " and "EB " logo were retained, but the iconic theme song previously played before it started was not heard.

Last week, the so-called TVJ and Eat Bulaga’s other hosts announced their departure from TAPE Inc., the production company behind the country’s longest running noontime variety show.

Speaking to CNN Philippines, Tito said their group is currently discussing with at least four networks regarding their possible transfer to another station. 

He said a decision may be announced this week, with the target airing on television by July.

Sotto also maintained that TAPE Inc. has no rights over the name “Eat Bulaga” and its segments.
