WATCH: Catriona Gray reunites with Ne-Yo in singer’s Manila concert, recreates signature 'lava' walk
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 24)— Catriona Gray is one happy fan!
The Miss Universe 2018 winner reunited with R&B singer Ne-Yo during the latter’s Manila concert on Monday night — more than four years since they shared the stage at the pageant’s coronation.
“My name is Catriona. I actually walked with you in Thailand,” a visibly thrilled Gray told the Grammy-winning artist when she was asked to come up on the stage during one of his numbers.
The beauty queen then recreated her signature “lava walk” as the singer belted out his tunes.
The scene brought back memories of Gray’s final walk during the Miss Universe coronation — where Ne-Yo was also a guest performer. At the time, the Philippine bet strutted to the singer’s hit single "Miss Independent.”
In a social media post the day after, Gray relived some memories of the concert, which she also labeled as the “best night ever.”
“So last night, [Ne-Yo] asked for members from the audience to dance, syempre hindi ako (of course I’m not a) dancer!" she wrote on Intagram. "But then everyone around me was pointing to me and, taking notice, one of the stage managers picked me to take me to the stage.”
“Fangirling aside, considering [Ne-Yo] did a back to back show, the performances were incredible….A huge highlight of the year to witness him perform upclose!” Gray also said.
