Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 23) — K-pop girl group TWICE has returned with a new English single titled “Moonlight Sunrise,” and it’s co-written by a Fil-Am woman.

Nina Ann Nelson is a singer-songwriter born in California, USA.

She is a member of an American girl group Citizen Queen that was formed in 2018 by US record label RCA Records.

Before joining Citizen Queen, Nelson was part of an a capella group at the University of Southern California.

She also forayed into acting where she guested in “NCIS: Los Angeles” in 2014 and “One Day at a Time” in 2019.

Nelson and Citizen Queen co-member Kaedi Dalley took part in writing the latest song of TWICE, which premiered on Jan. 20.

“Moonlight Sunrise” is a pre-released track from TWICE’s 12th mini album. It was composed by earattack and Woo-hyun Lee.

According to the group’s official website, the latest track is a “Miami bass-based pop song that expresses the feelings and excitement of falling in love using the bright moonlight and the rising sun.”

It added that the “soft and dreamy charm” visual concept of the music video shows the eagerness of TWICE to be with their fans “in a sentimental mood.”

The music video has currently garnered 31 million views.

“Moonlight Sunrise” is TWICE’s second English single, following their 2021 “The Feels,” which reached the 83rd spot in the Billboard Hot 100 in October the same year.

Earlier, the group also announced it will also drop a mini album in March.

The group last released its album in July with the Japanese track “Celebrate.”

Debuted in 2015 under JYP Entertainment, TWICE is a nine-member group composed of Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyong and Tzuyu.
