Moira dela Torre, husband announce split after 3 years of marriage

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 31) – Singer-songwriter Moira dela Torre and her husband Jason Hernandez have announced they will end their three-year marriage after he confessed to being “unfaithful.”

"It is with a heavy heart that after 3 years of marriage, we announce that we are parting ways,” Hernandez, who is also a singer, said on Tuesday in a social media post shared by Dela Torre.

The confirmation came more than a month after breakup and cheating rumors involving the couple surfaced on social media.

“Though my love for her has always been genuine, a few months ago, I confessed to Moira that I have been unfaithful to her during our marriage. I believe that she deserved to know the truth rather than continue down a 'peaceful' but dishonest path,” Hernandez wrote.

“I take full responsibility and I'm doing my best to be better. From the bottom of my heart, I'm sorry for everyone I hurt. Especially Moi,” he added.

Hernandez said their “love and respect for each other remains” and requested for privacy amid the split.

The couple, who have been best friends for years, tied the knot in January 2019.

Last month, Hernandez refuted rumors they have broken up, while also stressing in a tweet that it was not Dela Torre who cheated.
