Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 16) — Netflix series “Trese” co-creator Kajo Baldisimo and five other Filipino artists will join this year’s Singapore Comic Con (convention) at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore on Dec.10 and 11.

Philippine National Book Awardee Manix Abrera will also be present along with other Filipino artists working on Star Wars, Marvel and DC comics.

In 2021, Netflix adapted the Philippine graphic novel “Trese'' into an anime series.

Written by Budgette Tan and illustrated by Baldisomo, the popular horror and dark fantasy comic series features detective Alexandra Trese solving crimes caused by supernatural beings.

It dominated the charts in the Philippines and landed in Netflix's top 10 TV shows list in 11 countries just 24 hours after its release in June 2021

The Singapore Comic Con features both Asian and Western pop culture, including toys and collectibles, comics, esports and cosplay.

It was postponed since 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year, the comic convention will feature 350 exhibitors and 420 brands, including those from the Philippines.

Attendees must also be fully vaccinated and will have to wear face masks inside the convention.
