Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — When the Samsung Performing Arts Theater opened its doors on July 14, 2022, it had one important goal in mind — to provide theatre enthusiasts spacious yet intimate seating where no seat is a bad seat.

The seats in this theatre are laid out in a way they embrace the stage. This design provides patrons a better view of the performance, while the performers feel more intimate with their audience.

But it is not just the seating which is amazing in this venue. It is also the colorful mural that graces the hall at the 5th level. The captivating, expressive art was done by Don Jaime Zobel de Ayala who is known for his minimalist abstract expressionism.

Perfection is what the theatre and its interior design pieces embody. The venue is bound to stage world-class performers, artists of note, and in general those who pursue excellence.

Small wonder the first performance outside the launch event came from the Manila Symphony Orchestra (MSO) on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of Standard Insurance Co., Inc.

Standard Insurance., Inc. is a multi-awarded company known to continuously challenge the status quo in anything and everything it does.

This pursuit of excellence runs in the organization’s DNA. Ask any of its associate what corporate value they keep to heart and the word “excellence” often comes out in their reply.

Group Chairman Ernesto Echauz knew the significance of the event after a two-year hiatus from face-to-face meetings and took it as a great opportunity for everyone to listen to world-class music by gifted, heralded musicians.

The evening was attended by Standard Insurance associates, guests and intermediaries. The afternoon was aptly dedicated to honor the year’s loyalty awardees — men and women of service to Standard Insurance for 10 years and more. The evening was an opportunity to entertain customers, associates, guests, and intermediaries.

The night came with its rewards and overflowing cocktails. Towards the second half of the program, the performance of the MSO and soprano Lara Maigue and Tenor Ivan Nery blew the audience away.

The evening's surprise was the duet by mother and daughter sopranos Nannete Moscardon Maigue and Lara Maigue.

The carefully selected musical pieces for the event showcased the award-winning talent of Standard Insurance musical scholars: Damodar Das Castillo (cello), Emanuel John Villarin (violin), Jeanne Rafaella Marquez (violin) and Diomedes Saraza Jr (violin).

Orchestras create music harnessing multi-faceted emotions. Within the rise and fall of their dynamics and the musicians' ability to express the music as seen through the conductor's vision, the MSO was able to deliver a truly unique 64th Anniversary for Standard Insurance Co. Inc.
