Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 14) — BDO Unibank Inc. is already processing the reimbursement of nearly 700 clients hit by recent online fraudulent transactions, it announced Tuesday.

"We have requested our clients to go to their branch of account and submit documentation to get the refund. The bank will shoulder the losses perpetrated by this cybercrime incident," it said in a statement.

BDO also assured it is working closely with authorities, including the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, to prevent similar occurrences.

Customers of the Sy-led bank earlier aired out their grievances online, posting screenshots of unauthorized fund transfers to a certain Mark Nagoyo.

Meanwhile, the Bankers Association of the Philippines called on the public to do their part and protect themselves from cyberscams.
