Court junks NOW Telco's stay order petition on 3rd telco process

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 12) — The selection for the third major telecommunications player will remain unimpeded after the court junks a temporary restraining order filed by a potential bidder on the terms of reference.

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) announced in a statement that the Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 42 denied the petition for a stay order filed by Now Telecom.

"We will push through as scheduled," said DICT Acting Secretary Eliseo Rio in the statement, adding that the  timeline to select the new major telecommunications player will go as scheduled.

As of 11 p.m. Friday, the following companies have already purchased their bidding documents:

China Telecom

PT&T Corporation

LCS Group of Companies

TierOne Communications

Telenor Group

Udenna Corporation
