Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 7) — The Philippine chess team on Wednesday delivered four more gold medals at the ASEAN Para Games in Cambodia, bringing the total to 27.

Darry Bernardo snagged the gold in men's individual standard B2-B3 final. Bernardo, Menandro Redor, and Arman Subaste also clinched the gold in men's team standard B2/B3 event.

This was Bernardo's third and the group's second gold medal in the competition after winning the para chess men's and team's rapid VI-B2/B3 event on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Cheyzer Mendoza dominated the women's individual standard P1 event, marking her second gold after she topped the women's individual rapid chess PI also last June 4.

Mendoza, together with Cheryl Angot and Fe Mangagayam, also emerged victorious in the women's standard P1 game on Wednesday.

The chess team has so far gathered a total of four gold, two silver, and five bronze medals.

Para swimmer Angel Otom's gold rush also kept going after she collected her 4th in women's 50-meter freestyle S5.

The athletics team also contributed two more gold medals after veterans Jerrold Mangliwan and Evaristo Carbonel championed in men's 200-meter T52 and men's discus throw F11, respectively.

This was Mangliwan's second and Carbonel's third gold medal in the 12th edition of the biennial meet.
