Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 21) — The Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Department of Education (DepEd), and the Philippine National Police (PNP) were among the top performing and most trusted government agencies in the second quarter of 2023, according to a study by OCTA Research.

Emerging in the top five of 25 government agencies' performance ratings were CHED (80%), DepEd (79%), PNP (76%), Department of Health (DOH) (75%), and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) (73%), according to survey results released Monday.

The satisfaction ratings per region revealed the following:

CHED: NCR (86%), Balance Luzon (71%), Visayas (91%), Mindanao (86%)

DepEd: NCR (65%), Balance Luzon (74%), Visayas (84%), Mindanao (93%)

PNP: NCR (72%), Balance Luzon (69%), Visayas (81%), Mindanao (81%)

DOH: NCR (50%), Balance Luzon (69%), Visayas (90%), Mindanao (89%)

DSWD: NCR (58%), Balance Luzon (72%), Visayas (68%), Mindanao (87%)

The same agencies were also in the top five in terms of trust rating, but with different rankings. Though OCTA did not specify the scores, CHED remained in the lead, followed by DSWD, DOH, DepEd, and PNP.

OCTA said the highest trust ratings for all government agencies came from Mindanao, while the lowest was from the National Capital Region.

The DOH had a trust rating of 72% and 71% in the NCR and Balance Luzon, respectively. The DepEd, meanwhile, was rated 69% and 68% in the same regions.

Last May, an OCTA survey found that eight in 10 Filipinos trusted the PNP.
