Marcos names Enrile's daughter as CEZA head
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 24) — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed businesswoman Katrina Gloria Ponce Enrile, the daughter of Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile, as administrator and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA).
The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) made the announcement on Wednesday, noting that the position has a Cabinet rank.
The entrepreneur is the president and CEO of JAKA Investments Corporation, and is the woman behind the corned beef brand Delimondo.
In a social media post, she thanked Marcos for the trust, saying she is “beyond grateful" for the appointment.
The CEZA was created by virtue of the Cagayan Special Economic Zone Act of 1995, which was authored by the older Enrile, a native of the province, when he was senator.
The government corporation is tasked to manage and supervise the development of the Cagayan Special Economic Zone and Freeport.
