Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 21) — Actress Nadine Lustre, an honorary park ranger of Masungi Georeserve, has joined the weeding and mulching activities in the conservation area.

She took part in the Masungi Geopark Project, a reforestation initiative in denuded areas around the Masungi Georeserve.

"Nadine wanted to see how Masungi was doing amid challenges and came to show support," the Masungi Facebook page posted on Monday.

It also shared that the award-winning actress, who has been vocal about environmental causes, shared her journey to a vegan lifestyle, which she is embarking on for the welfare of animals and the planet.

Lustre partnered with Masungi in 2021 in reforestation efforts and to save its watershed.

The Masungi Georeserve in the Sierra Madre Mountain Range has been undergoing conservation and rehabilitation since the 2000s.

The Masungi Georeserve Foundation's efforts were endangered after the Bureau of Corrections in February announced it will move its headquarters and build housing for its personnel in the ecotourism spot.

The plan was paused pending evaluation of its environmental impact.
