James Reid to focus on music career
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 14) — James Reid will focus on making more music this year, but he will not be staying in the United States for good.
The 28-year-old singer and actor said he just flew to Los Angeles, California to see possibilities in his music career.
“I’m only here until April and be heading home again. I came out here to work on music, to meet a lot of people, try and see what doors I can open, make a name for myself out here, and make Filipinos proud,” Reid told CNN Philippines’ New Day on Monday.
So far, Reid has been productive as he recently dropped a remix of his 2021 single “Hello” along with GOT7’s Jay B and Taiwanese-American rapper ØZI.
Reid is currently signed with international artist management company Transparent Arts. Among their artists are Tiffany Young of Girls’ Generation and Asian American group Far East Movement that also owns the company.
“I’ve been working with some amazing people, amazing producers, my management Transparent Arts is very supportive in helping me with my music career,” he said.
The Filipino-Australian artist is also excited to release new songs this year and more artists are expected to sign with his record label, Careless Music.
“But definitely for this year, I have been working on a lot of music and I’m very excited to start releasing these songs. For this year, focusing on music and I’m also excited to get back home. I’ll be signing more artists to Careless Music, my music label," Reid said.
He produced his last studio album “Palm Dreams” under his own record label in 2017. His last television project was Idol Philippines in 2019, where he was one of the judges.
